Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilts!

Last year I made the En Provence Mystery Quilt with Bonnie Hunter.
It was a wonderful adventure in scrap quilting.

I was so fortunate to be able to show it to her when she visited Minnesota!

This was a labor of love, and once I have it quilted, it will be on my bed.

Which brings me to this years mystery quilt - On Ringo Lake.  Bonnie came up with the color scheme when she spent time at a cabin with family on Ringo Lake in central Minnesota.  This picture is a great representation of the beauty of the more than 10,000 lakes we have here.

It turns out that the family cabin I spent more than 50 years visiting is just north of Ringo Lake.  Norway Lake will always have a special place in my heart.
I love the color scheme, and that it arose from Bonnie's visit to my lovely state.

Here are some pictures of my part 1 units.  I am mostly done!
See the white fabric with the loon?  And the brown fabric with words?
Those fabrics are both from the Shop Minnesota Shop Hop a few years ago.
I love that I can add them to this quilt.

Thank you Bonnie for another great mystery quilt to work on.

New Adventure - Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt

A quick post - I am going to do the Bonnie Hunt Mystery Quilt!
Please click on the badge to the left for details.
I just hope I have enough fabric to work for this.

One thing I have been working on is baby bibs to sell in my Etsy Shop.
Hopefully others will find them as cute as I do!
Here is a sampling.

Also, I am doing some de-stashing and listing items in my Etsy shop.
The link is here - and look for the 10% off coupon info!
I am just getting started, so keep checking back.
Here are some of the treasures for sale:

I hope to post picture of my latest project soon.

Meanwhile,

Blessed Quilting!

Life Changes...

Life seems to constantly change the past couple years and brings new seasons.
After 2 years of searching for a job, I have been employed for 10 months now!
It is hard to believe that much time has passed.
During these past 2 years, I have done very little quilting.

Besides job hunting, the other big reason was that my oldest was a Senior in High School last year.
So we went through all of the last year events and angst of knowing that she
would be leaving me to go to college soon.
She has turned out to be such a lovely young lady - inside and out!

And here we are last Monday when she moved into the dorm:

Her room is literally a mile from my work place, so it will be easy for us to get together.
I have promised a "Target Run" for she and her roommate every couple of weeks.

I still have my son at home for 3 more years, but it still feels empty at home.

The other big events for me this year were another Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop bus trip to
Southwest Minnesota with My sister-in-law,
(that is me on the right)

and the purchase of a very small, old, ugly, very cheap tent trailer.
I will be replacing some of the canvas, and making new cushion covers.
It has the one slide out bed, and a table with bench seats that makes into a bed.
That is it - no kitchen or anything.
But I have rediscovered my love of camping this summer, and yet don't want to be in a tent on the ground.
I will do my best to make it not so ugly.  :)

My quilting journey started 6 years ago with a bus trip in 2010 for the Quilt Minnesota Shop Hop.
This year was the 10th anniversary, and the fabric line is really special.  I
t features retro campers, cute mosquitoes, canoe paddles, fish, Trilliums, and so many other cute things.
Going on the bus trip has helped me get excited about quilting again!
Here is a picture of the quilt top my Sister-in-law put together right after we returned:

I decided I wanted to use the fabric for new cushion covers for my new camper.
I was stuck on the idea of making camper blocks.
Well, after spending hours on these 2 blocks, I think one will be in the center of each of the cushion backs, and make other blocks for the rest!  I am too picky.

I enjoyed making them, but I obsess too much over fabric placement.
Now I have to figure out what the rest of the blocks will be.

It feels good to be back to my blog!  I have missed writing and the opportunity to share what I am working on with others.  I look forward to visiting other blogs again, and doing a lot more quilting!!!

ALL THE BEST,

Karen
